Network depicts a dystopian media landscape where opinion trumps fact. The iconic film by Paddy Chayefsky won four Academy Awards in 1976, and was adapted by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour) and director Ivo Van Hove (Hedda Gabler) for the stage, winning Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) an Olivier Award for Best Actor in the role of Howard Beale. The production ambitiously staged the piece with live cinema and a live restaurant immersed in the action.
